What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in all plants, and are especially abundant in hemp.
They are responsible for keeping the plant healthy but also determine how they taste and smell.
The amazing thing about terpenes is that some of them have medicinal properties – this is why many of today’s medications originated from plants and why plant medicine has existed for thousands of years.
Fun Fact: Aspirin has its origins from the bark of a willow tree.
So far, tens of thousands of terpenes have identified, and more are being discovered each day.
List of commonly found terpenes in MAGU and their medicinal benefits:
- Alpha-bisabolol – also found in chamomile. Has anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxing effects.
- Beta-caryophyllene – also found in cloves, rosemary, and hops. Beneficial for managing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
- Beta-pinene – anti-depressant and anti-cancer properties.
- Guaiol – also found in cypress pine. Helps Reduce pain, protects the body from cancer, promotes euphoric/uplifting moods, and increases creativity.
- Humulene – also found in ginseng. Has anti-inflammatory, pain relief, and appetite-suppressing properties.
- Limonene – one of the most commonly found terpene (also found in oranges, grapefruits, and limes). Has anti-cancer and anti-anxiety properties.
- Linalool – has a floral scent and is responsible for the fragrance of lavender. Helps alleviate stress.
- Myrcene – also found in mangos. Has antifungal and antibacterial properties.
Entourage Effect
The “entourage effect” is the positive feeling derived from the addition of terpenes to the effect of phytocannabinoid. These components work synergistically to boost each other’s medicinal properties. By incorporating different phytocannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in hemp, people can actually feel the difference and notice improvements in their lives when using MAGU.
How is MAGU different from "Full Spectrum" CBD products?
MAGU is not a CBD product, we are the hemp herb itself.
Before MAGU’s proprietary process, the only way to obtain the benefits of hemp were through synthetic extractions.
These extractions are then mixed with more additives and synthetic terpenes, to create a final product that mimics some of the medicinal benefits of hemp.
MAGU just delivers the herb itself, fully cooked and ready to consume (without the cooking process, the human body cannot absorb the beneficial components of hemp).
If you had to choose between:
- an avocado…
- or a lab made jelly injected with minerals, vitamins, food coloring, and artificial flavoring to mimic an avocado…
